Crawford is the nephew of Dodgers' outfielder Carl Crawford and has a similar skill set to the speedy outfielder.
Crawford is the best shortstop prospect in this draft, which makes him a much more valuable prospect than some others. He has all the tools to stick at the position. His instincts are good and his arm has been clocked as high as 90 MPH across the diamond.
He was clocked at 6.77 seconds in the 60-yard dash, so his speed should be an asset at the next level.
Crawford has shown enough barrel-to-ball ability to be a legitimate offensive force. He probably won't hit for much power, but he has gap pop. His swing can get a little long, which is something he'll have to work on going forward.
He's one of the few potential five-tool prospects in this draft. While power won't ever be his MO, he projects to have at least four above-average tools at the next level.

Crawford might not make it to the Dodgers' No. 18 pick, as he's the best and truest shortstop prospect in this draft.
He's committed to USC, but as a likely Top 12 pick, he's going to sign. If he gets to No. 18, I could see the Dodgers offering him a little more than their $2-plus million slot recommended bonus amount.
Crawford is No. 2 on my big board. If he's there, I'd love for the Dodgers to nab him. I'm fully expecting him not to get past the Phillies at No. 16, though.
